IMPACT PROJECTS | HIGHLIGHTS

Back To School & Beyond (Resource) Drive
in August of 2024, I held an event in Queens NY, and was able to host a government approved community event from the Office of NYS Senator Joseph P. Addabbo, Jr. The event was conducted with support from Queens Public Library which provided drawstring backpacks and 200+ reading books for students K-12. With support, I was able to pack each bag with notebooks, pens, pencils, erasers, bookmarks, and resource materials. The resources included information both in English and Spanish of different summer programs parents could enroll their students in. There was also a wheel that families could spin to get an extra incentive, which consisted of items like large, durable backpacks, scented markers, colorful folders and notebooks. In total 500+ items of supplies were collected and given away.in August of 2024, I held an event in Queens NY, and was able to host a government approved community event from the Office of NYS Senator Joseph P. Summer Success (Website)🌐
With being in the process of creating a website I plan to create a resource bank where families could easily access summer resources finding programs of every subject such as Reading, STEM, Math, etc. I also plan to create videos to educate parents of the endless resources they could research as well.
Gettysburg Civic Engagement Program Scholarship/Grant
I presented my impact project about inspiring under-deserved families, and I was fortunate enough to win a $300 grant for further community outreach. I was also able to gain insights into advocacy, leadership, and crafting effective calls to actions as well as have some mentors who gave me insight on my project.
Mentorship experience
1. Camp Counselor- I worked as a counselor for 2 camps in Manhattan as I built on my leadership skills when it came to communication, creativity, and teamwork
2. Peer Tutor- I have tutored students in Biology and Language (Spanish).
3. Peer Group Leader- Have led and will lead many conversations and activities based on various topics at our school.
