Service Dog training and Solution Engineers
JAMES ATKINSON
James's impact project began over 10 years ago when his family volunteered with Canine Companions in Richmond, Virginia. Through this, he developed a love for dog training and learned how to let go of the dogs he raised, understanding their greater purpose. One experience that deeply shaped him was with a dog named Oxford, who was paired with Madisyn, a young woman with a spinal cord injury. Oxford became a life-changing companion for her, helping her regain trust and independence. Witnessing the impact our training had on her was incredibly rewarding to James. Training dogs has taught him patience, adaptability, empathy, and gratitude. He saw how resilient recipients are, like Tisha and Dawn, who persevere despite immense challenges, giving him motivation to continue training. Training dogs prompted him to create Solution Engineers in hope of inspiring other teens to find their calling to impact others' lives.
